Printing Philosophy

I am proud to announce that I am finally offering selected images as digital prints.

In the past, I was disappointed with the quality of traditional darkroom color prints; it never came close to capturing the saturation, contrast range, and vividness of my original transparencies.

This has changed with the advent of fine art digital printmaking.

I can now personally control the expression and quality of the print. I am now finally able to show and sell prints that meet my exceptionally high standards.

If the image is printed from a 35mm transparency they are scanned on professional high-end drum scanner; if they are a digital capture image, I use the highest quality digital camera currently on the market at the time. The images are produced in my studio, using Epson printers with Ultrachrome inks, insuring a lifespan of 75 - 100 years. The images are printed on various fine-art watercolor papers, each selected for the best rendering of the image. I personally fine-tune the images in Photoshop, so you are getting a handcrafted print that matches what I envisioned when the image was captured.

Expected Display Life of Digital Prints

Care should be taken, as with any piece of fine art, not to expose the image to high levels of moisture or sunlight. The print should be treated as a quality fine art watercolor painting. Choosing a location having normal humidity levels and minimum exposure to ultra violet light will provide many years of pleasurable viewing.

Print Editions

Most prints are Unlimited; a few are in a Limited Edition. All images are signed and numbered on the back of the print. If you click on an individual image within each edition webpage you will see the current pricing for that image.

Print sizes vary slightly depending on the print. But most commonly they are:

• 14 inches on the long side  
• 17 inches on the long side  
• 20 inches on the long side  
• 24 inches on the long side  

Certain prints are also available in larger sizes and there are also DIPTYCHS and SCROLLS.

Ordering Process

Please contact my office to verify current edition availability, prices and ordering.

Every effort will be made to promptly process orders, usually within a week. However, if I am traveling, print orders can take up to a month.

Prints are shipped via Fed Ex. Shipping is extra.

The highly compressed images as viewed on this website cannot do justice to the detail and colors of the fine-art prints. I am confident that you will be pleased with the quality of these photographs, and offer a liberal return policy to assure you. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, simply return the print within thirty days for a full refund.
